English Primary Schools Chess Association
Anthony Roper sent three teams to the semi-finals of the EPSCA tournament in Camber Sands on Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st May.
A great time was had by all, as the Under 11 Plate team and two under 9 Main Event teams battled over 6 rounds of matches with some of the chess schools in the south east of England.
The under 11s and under 9B’s both came away with creditable bronze awards. The Under 9 As excelled with a silver award.
Gabriel Wolfe achieved 5 wins out of 6 to secure best player from ARPS.
Much fun was had away from the board, as we took advantage of the Pontin’s facilities, the beautiful beach and sand-dunes and the many fast-food outlets!
We thank Greg Edwards for organising our trip and look forward to a return in 2018!
