Inclusion (& SEND)

In line with our Vision and Values, we are proud to nurture an inclusive environment at Anthony Roper Primary School. Our curriculum provides opportunities for all to succeed, ensuring that difference is valued and respected. Through different styles of lesson delivery, a variety of approaches to adaptation and classroom organisation tools, staff work exceptionally hard to meet the needs of all pupils. However, there will be times when a pupil needs something more specific to enable them to make progress, both personally and academically. This is when they may be identified as having Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities (SEND).

If you have any concerns about your child’s wellbeing or learning, the Parent Consultation Line offers a free 30-minute phone or video appointment with an educational psychologist. It provides an opportunity to talk through any worries about a child’s wellbeing and/or learning. The purpose of the service is to help families explore next steps and possible solutions through a supportive, shared problem-solving conversation.

Parents and carers may wish to discuss topics such as:

  • Social and emotional needs

  • Learning concerns

  • Family relationships

  • Behaviour worries

  • Daily routines, including sleep
