The House System

At Anthony Roper Primary School, our House System is at the heart of school life. It helps to build a sense of belonging, promotes teamwork and responsibility and encourages healthy competition in a friendly and supportive way across all year groups.

Our Houses

We have four Houses at Anthony Roper Primary School which are named after historical country houses in Kent and each House has its own colour. These are:

Chartwell (Red)

Ightham (Blue)

Knole (Green)

Penshurst (Yellow)

Every child and member of staff is placed into one of our four Houses when they join the school and they remain a part of that House throughout their time here.

House Captains are elected from Year 6 to act as role models and ambassadors, encouraging their peers, supporting and inspiring the younger children, helping to organise events and representing their House with pride.

Working Together

Throughout the year, pupils earn House Points for demonstrating our school values of Excellence, Creativity, Diversity, Kindness, Perseverance and Teamwork. Points are collected and celebrated weekly in assembly and published in our School Newsletter. The House System is also brought to life through competitions, Sports Day, themed events and special challenges.
